Chad Hotle, Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist (NC#7488)
After many years of work as a manager at a corporate restaurant chain Chad Hotle decided it was time for a change in careers and enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington to pursue a degree in biology. His ultimate plan was to graduate and apply to medical school. During his second year at UNCW, he knew he wanted to start gaining a deeper knowledge of how the human body works. He took a year off and enrolled at Miller-Motte College’s massage therapy program.
After completing the massage program in 2006, he returned to UNCW where he completed his B.S. in biology and a minor in chemistry in 2008. Although his original intent was not to be a practicing massage therapist, he developed a great appreciation for the powerful results this work could offer people in need of pain relief and relaxation. He says the best part of his work is seeing the client’s positive transformation, physically, mentally and emotionally at the end of a session.
Chad has had many opportunities to work with some of the greatest massage therapists in the area, and has continued learning from each of them. Currently, he is also working on Bald Head Island’s exclusive Island Retreat Spa and Salon. Working there has allowed him to work on hundreds of different people, enabling him to further develop his skills.
He offers several different massage modalities, including Swedish, Hot-Stone, Trigger Point, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy, and most recently, Thai Yoga Bodywork. His specialty is deep-tissue/therapeutic massage in which he incorporates all the above styles into a custom massage for each client. His deep-tissue techniques range from very subtle movements and stretches, to very firm pressure.

Swedish Massage
Enhance your well-being. Reduce the physical and mental
components of stress. This technique will lessen
muscle tension, improve circulation, lower blood
pressure, enhance your flexibility and increase your
endorphin levels. Say good-bye to anxiety. Relax…Breathe…Enjoy!
Pre-Natal Massage
Designed especially for the expectant mother who needs
relief from pregnancy related strain. While side
lying so that her frame is comfortably supported,
maximum relaxation can be achieved through techniques
that target lower back, pelvic and leg pain. Lymphatic
circulation is also promoted to reduce any inflammation
or swelling. Mama you deserve it!
Sports Massage
For the weekend warrior or the everyday athlete, this
massage adjusts to the needs of your particular regime.
Pre-event, post-event, or maintenance treatments
are used to boost your muscular performance while
also providing prevention and management of sport
related repetitive movement damage to muscles and
joints. Reduce muscle soreness and recovery time!
Just do it!
Deep Tissue Massage
Approach your chronic muscular pain or injury with a
functional assessment that combines Trigger Point
technique, deep tissue manipulation and myofascial
release. Ischemic compression addresses the root
of chronic pain by releasing the entire muscle fiber,
producing significant results. Increase your range
of motion, remove toxic build up in the tissue and
experience true relief from body stress. Get ready
for some deep work!
Hot Stone Therapy
Heat has long been used as an initiation to physical
tranquility. During this session, basalt stones are
basted and coated with aromatherapeautic oils and
used as a tool in conjunction with manual massage.
Placements of the stones are emphasized to reach
full parasympathetic potential, bringing you to a
deeper level of relaxation. Renew yourself with the
warmth of the stones!
Thai Massage
Thai Massage is an ancient art of body therapy for healing,
health, and transformation. Through interactive manipulation
of the body using passive stretching and gentle pressure
along energy lines, the body begins to open and regain
flexibility and ease of movement, while the mind
gently returns to calm alertness. The effect is uniquely
relaxing as well as energizing. This ancient therapy
is beneficial for young or old, active or inactive,
healthy or not so healthy. Sessions are performed
on a floor mat with the client dressed in comfortable
loose clothing.
Cancellation / No Show Policy
24 hour Cancellation Policy
on all massage bookings. Any client who wishes to cancel
an appointment with less than 24 hours notice will be
charged the full cost of the massage.
Helpful Hints
*Massage is
most enjoyable on an empty stomach! Small snacks are
fine 1-2 hours before your massage.
*Massages can be given w/the client fully clothed, or
not. The choice is based on your comfort level.
*Please arrive 15 minutes before your massage to meet
your therapist, discuss any problem areas, etc.
*Massage is especially yummy when scheduled right after
your yoga class. This allows you to feel completely relaxed
before you even lie on the massage table, and allows
your therapist to work a little deeper on any tight spots!
*If you have a preference, you may request a heated table
or not-some like the heat, some prefer a cooler table.
Just let your therapist know!
*Tipping your therapist is optional, but appreciated!
Average tipping is 15-20%. |
