Newcomers Unlimited Special — 30 Days of Yoga for $30 (In Person & Streaming)
January 15–August 15, 2027
8 weekends • In person at Wilmington Yoga Center
With Frances Murchison + Jamie Annette
Wilmington, North Carolina
Mindfulness + The Eightfold Path is a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training for those who want to become confident, knowledgeable yoga teachers and for students who simply want to go deeper.
Over eight months, you’ll explore yoga as a complete practice: asana, philosophy, mindfulness, meditation, pranayama, anatomy, self-inquiry, and the art of teaching.

Many students come to teacher training because they want to teach. Others come because yoga has become an important part of their lives and they find themselves asking: What is there beyond the physical practice?
This training explores that question through Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga. You’ll strengthen your personal asana practice while developing a deeper understanding of why we practice, and how the principles of yoga can extend beyond your time on the mat.
For those who want to teach, you’ll graduate with the foundation, experience, and 200-hour certification needed to begin. This program is accredited with Yoga Alliance.
For those who don’t want to teach, the training offers something equally valuable: dedicated time to study, practice, reflect, and experience yoga more fully.
“I initially signed up to take this training because I wanted to teach yoga again, after some time away from teaching. This training not only taught me how to be a more excellent teacher, but an excellent human. Even if I never teach another yoga class, I will still feel that this training is one of the most meaningful experiences I have had in my life.”

Because this isn’t material you should have to rush through.
Mindfulness + The Eightfold Path meets for one weekend each month from January through August.
The space between training weekends is intentional. You’ll have time to practice what you’re learning, complete readings, reflect on discussions, and notice how the material begins to show up in your everyday life. Then you return the following month and build upon it.
The training is organized by the Eightfold Path, meaning each weekend will focus on one of the eight limbs-
This format also makes a 200-hour training possible for students who want an immersive experience without stepping away from work and daily life for weeks at a time.

“I love teaching Mindfulness and The Eight-Fold Path because I have witnessed, over the years, what can unfold when students are given the time, space, and tools to turn inward, meet themselves with compassion and acceptance, and explore who they truly are. Over the eight-month journey, the curriculum provides a framework, a blueprint, for living with greater awareness, intention, and connection to one’s own dharma, or calling. It offers practices and perspectives that can help each person discover what is within them and find the courage to live it. The most meaningful part for me is hearing, year after year, how this process has become a turning point in students’ lives and how they carry these teachings with them long after the course ends. As Picasso said, “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” Teaching this curriculum is one of the ways I am fortunate enough to give mine away.”
Adjunct Faculty member, Frances Murchison, 200ERYT/500RYT, brings years of yoga experience to her classes. She completed her 200hr Training under Daren Friesen at Moksha Yoga in Chicago, and has completed her 500-hour Kunga Yoga certification.
Originally a runner, she embraced yoga for the physical benefits of strength, flexibility and endurance. Soon, she realized that the enhancement of mindfulness, self-acceptance and compassion turned out to be an even larger benefit.
Her influential teachers include Gary Kraftsow, Gabriel Halpern, Aadil Palkhivala, Daren Friesen, Dr. John Douillard and Brian Kest. Frances is a trained and certified 5Elements Flow teacher. Frances’ background as a holistic health coach informs her teaching.
Jamie Annette“Mindfulness and the Eightfold Path is more than just a training on how to teach yoga (although that certainly is part of the curriculum through learning various asanas, pranayama techniques and Sanskrit). What I truly love about this training is the invitation to go deeper; to connect with one’s most authentic self with compassion and acceptance; to be present to the life you’re living. It is such an honor, year after year, to offer the tools that are laid out in the Eightfold Path to the courageous students that walk in ready to begin this journey. ”
Jamie took her first yoga class with her mom in 2001 and has been practicing ever since. She especially loved how the practice quieted her mind and allowed her to be more connected to her body. She wanted to deepen her knowledge of yoga so in 2010 she completed her 200 hour yoga certification at Wilmington Yoga and began teaching immediately. She continued her yoga education and in 2015 she completed her 500 hour yoga certification.
Jamie has taught many different styles of yoga including Vinyasa Flow, Hot Slow Flow, Core Power, Gentle + Meditation, and Restorative. She offers options for all levels of practitioners in all of her classes and truly believes that yoga is for everybody.
In addition to teaching classes, Jamie also enjoys leading yoga teacher trainings, workshops and yoga retreats. She has been co-leading Mindfulness and the Eightfold Path 200hr teacher training with Frances Murchison since 2018. She also created a workshop called Yoga for Aging and Injury, which can be taken simply to have an understanding of yoga modifications or to receive CEUs for further education.
Jamie has always had an interest in health of both body and mind and feels fortunate to share this with others through teaching.
“The atmosphere created by Frances and Jamie has been perfect to learn/grow/heal. Frances is such a master of guiding discussion, the lesson plan was expertly crafted. Growing with this Sangha has changed my life.”

“This was probably the best and most important undertaking of my life, and even after graduating, it’s clear that this is only the beginning. I’ve sometimes thought that the word ‘authentic’ is thrown about too frequently and I don’t know that I gave the meaning of it in terms of ourselves too much thought. Not Anymore… this program showed me what being my authentic self can look like- it’s been eye opening and heart opening.”

“This course was truly life changing. Offering Patanjali’s framework for living via the Eightfold path provided me better insight into not only my yoga practice but into myself, others, and how the world operates. Truly a blueprint for living” – 2023 Graduate
“Started yoga for the physical practice. I wanted to take this program for personal and spiritual growth. The program could not be more perfect. It was life changing for me. This course gave me the tools and desire for sitting. Learning the asana poses and their benefits. Then team is amazing, such a gift to have their guidance.” – 2023 Graduate
“This was the most informative and explorative course that I have ever attended. I learned so much about all of the aspects of yoga, not just the physical practice. I hope that others will attend so others can bring it our into the world. Much gratitude to everyone involved in creating this course.” – 2022 Graduate
“I was skeptical when told the training would change my life- midway through our life claims like that are difficult to believe. But this was a truly transforming. Most people say something like ‘I don’t think I have in me what it takes to do a training even though I would love to’, to which I say any self doubts are addressed in the material and one miraculously meets and conquer them” – 2024 Graduate
