Meet Melina Meza: Ayurvedic Yoga Instructor Extraordinaire

During the weekend of June 27-29, the Wilmington Yoga Center will be hosting a workshop entitled The Art of Sequencing Yoga and Ayurveda with Melina Meza!

Melina is a 500-ERYT, has a B.S. in Nutrition from Bastyr University and is an Ayurvedic Health Educator. She teaches yoga full time at 8 Limbs Yoga Centers, located in Seattle, Washington and is the co-director of the 8 Limbs Yoga Centers 200 and 500 Hour Teachers’ Training Programs.

She has examined the relationship between yoga and nutrition for the past two decades. Melina’s experience with Hatha Yoga, Ayurveda, whole foods nutrition and healthy lifestyle promotion inspired her to create a style of yoga known as Seasonal Vinyasa. Her classes, workshops and retreats place an emphasis on sequencing and alignment with nature. While Melina’s teachings include an asana practice, she also provides insight on physical health and nutrition. She encourages her students to obtain the type of self-knowledge that allows for the mindful adjustment of daily choices.

Melina’s passion for yoga and eating well, teaching and nutritional counseling and travel bring a vivid palate and enlightened viewpoint to her endeavors.

In addition to instructing others in Seasonal Vinyasa, she is the author of the Art of Sequencing books and has created the Yoga for the Seasons video series. Melina’s books and videos are practical, affordable and helpful wellness tools that will help yogis connect to physical health on a continual basis.

The Art of Sequencing with Yoga and Ayurveda Workshop will offer yogis the chance to participate in her unique yogic style. Students are taught to honor and live with the natural cycles of the day, season and life. If students learn to manage their prana (life essence) on a daily basis with thoughtful consideration, one will begin to notice a stronger, healthier and happier self!

Melina’s workshop will cover the foundation material for understanding the heart of Seasonal Vinyasa, including sequencing for daily rhythms, seasons, monthly cycles and various stages of life. Yogis will learn how to adapt one’s yoga practice, diet and general approach to life as well as how to inspire self-knowledge that allows for the conscious adjustment of day-to-day choices.

Yogis attending the workshop will:

1. Learn self-care rituals for the seasons

2. Experience a unique summer asana sequence highlighting playfulness and intuition

3. Learn how to eat right for individual doshas

4. Be introduced to the Sankhya Philosophy concepts (helping students remember their true nature)

5. Learn how to adapt one’s yoga practice, diet and general approach to life

6. Be inspired to obtain a self-knowledge that allows for the conscious adjustment of day-to-day choices

Please join Melina at the Wilmington Yoga Center June 27-29, 2014 for this amazing experience!
