Yoga Trainings + Workshops You Can’t Afford to Miss

At Wilmington Yoga, we like to give our students lots of options and opportunities for deepening their practices….whether that be through diving into a teacher training, joining us for a mini workshop, or traveling with us on retreats (and of course, offering a full schedule of public classes 7 days a week)! You can find the schedule of our upcoming workshops here, but today I’ll dig a little deeper into a few on the schedule that will give you what I think is the most ‘bang for your buck’ experiences.

Trainings for Yoga Teachers

If you are already a teacher who has gone through a foundational 200hr teacher training, one of the more impactful weekend trainings we have on our calendar this fall is the Kunga Hands on Assisting Yoga Teacher Training, running November 9-November 12, with Noelle Whittington, ERYT500. This training will provide you with concrete skills for effective, safe and intelligent hands-on assisting for your students. You will leave the weekend with specific tools for offering safe, and powerful assists with confidence and ease. The early bird date to register and save $50 ends on October 9, but registration is available until November 3, 2017!

Workshops for Yoga Students

Are you a student looking to dive a little deeper into your personal practice? Check out these mini workshops we have planned for later this month! On October 21, 2017 join Heather Metzler, ERYT500 for a 2-hour Yoga for Strength Building Mini-Workshop. In this workshop you will learn specific exercises that will not only enhance your overall strength, but your yoga practice as well–gaining an understanding of what limitations you may have and learning movements that may help. After joining Heather to build your strength, put it to work with Allison Lloyd, ERYT200 the weekend of November 3-5, 2017 during our Flight School Extended Practices! Over the course of 3 days there are 9 hours of playtime to learn how to gracefully go upside down–giving students an opportunity to gain confidence in your inversions. Friday evening’s session (6p-9p) will be focused on safe + accessible inversions for beginners and those working with injury, Saturday morning (9a-12p) on beginner to intermediate inversions to build strength and confidence, and Sunday afternoon (12:30p-3:30p) will wrap up the weekend focusing on more advanced and playful inversions by encouraging students to overcome fears and fall gracefully! You can drop in on a single session for $25, or pay $60 for all 3 sessions!

Adventures for Travelers

Wrapping it up with retreats we have our big annual service trip to India rapidly approaching! Visit the birthplace of yoga and take your yoga off the mat by joining us as we travel to Kerala, India to visit the Home of Hope Orphanage to see the girls we support throughout the year with our Kunga Fund. The trip is 9 days/8 nights and includes twice daily yoga + meditation practices, afternoon activities with the girls from the orphanage, as well as other activities. If you are interested you can learn more here or call the studio!

With all of these great opportunities to go deeper, we hope you’ll find something to try + we hope to see you on your mat soon! As always if you have any questions regarding any of the programs or classes, feel free to stop by the front desk, call the studio or email us!
